Dr. Aristotle G. Kalivretenos
Managing Member and Chief Operating Officer, Aurora Analytics LLC
Dr. Kalivretenos has expertise in solid/solution-phase synthetic methodology and total synthesis, with particular emphasis in amine/peptide/protein modification and fluorescent chemosensors. He earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Colorado State University followed by a post-doctoral fellowship, focusing in the CNS area, at Columbia University. After joining the faculty at UMBC in 1992, Dr. Kalivretenos’ research focused on bio-organic studies of channel forming peptides, including the development of solid-phase and solution-phase synthetic methodology for amine/peptide/protein synthesis and modification. Dr. Kalivretenos served as Scientist II at Sensors for Medicine and Science, Inc. from 1998 until 2004, focusing on the design and development of novel fluorescent glucose recognition chemistry as part of the development of an implantable continuous glucose sensor/monitor for diabetics. Dr. Kalivretenos has project management experience, including expertise in FDA, EPA and OSHA compliance requirements, as well as product development and commercialization experience (G-Mark and Si-HOBt products)
Prof. William R. LaCourse

Dr. LaCourse’s research interests include basic and applied research on hydrodynamic electroanalytical techniques in liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis, adsorption phenomena at noble metal electrodes, and advanced sample preparation techniques (e.g., microdialysis and pressurized-fluid extraction). He received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Northeastern University. After completing a postdoctoral appointment at Ames Laboratory, he held the position of Scientist at Iowa State University/Ames Laboratory until he joined the faculty at UMBC in 1992. In addition, he has five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry on the development of product assays of both human and veterinarian formulations.
Ron Wilson
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Wilson is the Principal of Entrepid, a professional financial management company. Mr. Wilson has served as CFO for a large health care organization and as an outside financial advisor to many privately-held companies in a range of industries. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Towson University. His Master’s of Business Administration is in Finance from the University of Baltimore. Mr. Wilson is a certified public accountant.
